Installed in the second stage of the Fluval BioLife aquarium filter, the carbon filter thoroughly and efficiently removes any fine sediments that escape the first stage of the filter's mechanical media. In addition, carbon granules inside the cartridge's huge internal carbon matrix absorb liquified wastes, medications and dyes. The precise combination of micro and macro pores absorbs all sizes of liquified waste and gaseous impurities in the water stream before before it reaches the final "dry" chamber of the filter. The replacement pack includes three custom-sized carbon filters exclusively designed for the BioLife filter.
