Aqua One ‘wool’ filter are actually composed of fine polymer fibres that will not rot in water and have a long, effective operating life. The pads are designed to trap solids and should be discarded when filled with waste and debris. Rinsing this fine polymer works well and refitting an old, flat polymer wool filter will decrease the filter flow rate and re-introduce old waste matter and reduce the operating life of the filter.
